This report provides a summary of current verifiable evidence regarding nine key topics that can potentially impact on meat chicken welfare.
The report is targeted at all stakeholders of the Australian chicken meat sector. This includes the chicken meat industry, government and particularly policy and decision-makers, animal welfare groups, and anyone in the community at large that is interested in learning more about the scientific evidence underlying chicken welfare and the impact of various housing and management practices.
It forms part of the RIRDC Chicken Meat R&D program, which aims to enhance the quality and safety of chicken meat products.
